Mary Lai Ing Kamaka

Mary Lai Ing Kamaka entered into rest on August 12, 2018, quietly at her home surrounded by her family. Mary was preceded in death by her husband Smith Kamaka. She is survived by: children: Rochelle Kessinger of McKinney, TX, Rae-Ann King of Martinez, GA and Neal Kamaka of Evans, GA;Grandchildren: Chase Kessinger, Kira Dittfurth, Thomas Kessinger, April Kamaka and Matt Kamaka; Great-grandchildren: Beau Kessinger, Oliver Kessinger, Kawai Dittfurth, Liam Kessinger and Oscar Kessinger. Mary was born and raised on the Big Island of Hawaii. She married Smith Kamaka and traveled the world as a U.S. Army wife. Upon the retirement of her husband from the U.S. Army, she subsequently pursued a career at MCG.Upon retirement from MCG, she became a full-time grandmother doting on all ofher grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She will be fondly remembered at a Memorial Service to be held at Marvin United Methodist Church on August 16, 2018 at 10:00 AM. Hawaiian attire (aloha shirts, muumuus, etc.)is encouraged. In lieu of flowers, please make donations in her honor to the American Kidney Foundation.
