Mary Grimaud

Mrs. Mary Hoyer Grimaud passed away peacefully on April 14th, at the age of 67, at Aiken Regional Medical Center. Mary is survived by her husband, Eugene T. Grimaud of Jackson, SC; her sister, Sandra H. Rushton of Walterboro, SC; her brother, Glen A. Hoyer of Bristow, VA; her sister-in-law, Melisse A. Hoyer of Bristow, VA; her daughter, Cynthia J. Kort of Richardson, TX; her son-in-law, Roger T. Kort, of Richardson, TX; two grandsons, Alexander T. Kort and Christopher J. Kort of Richardson, TX; several nieces, nephews, grandnieces, and grandnephews. She is preceded in death by her father, Grant J. Hoyer; her mother, Virginia S. Hoyer; her brother, Robert J. Hoyer. Mary was born on May 7th, 1949 in La Crosse, Wisconsin to Grant and Virginia Hoyer. She attended Saint Angela Academy of Aiken, SC. As a young woman, Mary helped her father operate the Sno-Cap Drive-In in North Augusta from the mid 60s to the early 70s. She married her husband, Eugene T. Grimaud, in August of 1973. In addition to being a full-time mother, she was also a dedicated teacher’s helper to Mrs. Rodgers' first grade class at Redcliffe Elementary for many years. Her family remembers her as a gentle mother who loved her family and adored her grandchildren. A graveside service is scheduled for Thursday, April 20th at 2:00 PM at Westover Memorial Park in Augusta. The family will receive guests prior to the service at 1:30PM. All are welcome to attend and celebrate Mary’s life. In lieu of flowers, please send donations to theSPCA Albrecht Center for Animal Welfare in Aiken, SC. The family would like to thank the wonderful ICU staff at Aiken Regional Medical Center for their care and dedication.
