Mary Moates Ellison Mary Moates Ellison, of Victory Drive in Waynesboro, died on Sunday, September 20, 2009.She was 62 years old. The family will receive friends on Tuesday, September 22, 2009 from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at The Poteet Funeral Home, 3465 Peach Orchard Road, Augusta.The funeral service will be conducted on Wednesday, September 23, 2009 at 4:00 p.m. at Rosemont Heights Baptist Church, 710 Stone Avenue, Waynesboro, Georgia.Rev. Keith Alderman will officiate.Mrs. Ellison will lie in state at the church from 3:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Mrs. Ellison will be cremated and the burial service will be private at a later date. Mrs. Ellison is survived by her mother, Geraldean Pittard Moates; her daughter, Lisa Ellison Oliphant and her husband Eddie of Augusta; her sister, Martha Lee and her husband Danny of Newington, Georgia; four grandchildren, Allen West, Marianne Lee, Zachary Lee, and Daniel Lee; her nephews, Tommy Lee and Rusty Lee. She was preceded in death by her husband Everett Allen Ellison on May 26, 2009. The Poteet Funeral Home, 3465 Peach Orchard Road, Augusta, 706.798.8886 is in charge of the funeral arrangements.
