Mary Ann Tanner Fanning

Belvedere, SC Mrs. Mary Ann Tanner Fanning of Belvedere, entered into rest on Saturday, May 14, 2016. She was 70 years old. Mrs. Fanning was born in Johnson County, Georgia on October 17, 1945. She was preceded in death by her parents, Bennie I and Mary Lizzie Garner Tanner and her brothers J.W., Billy, Fred and Roy Tanner. She was retired from Savannah River Site. She was of the Christian faith and was a member of Oaky Grove Church, Wrightsville, GA. Mrs. Fanning is survived by her husband, Bobby Fanning; her stepdaughters, Tina (Gary) Burch, North Augusta and Joette (Gregg) Stokes, Harlem ; five grandchildren, Connor and Michael Burch, Erika (Eric) Keener, Lindsey Stokes, and Kevin Stokes ; three great grandchildren, Tripp, Trevin, and Annabelle Keener;five sisters, Betty Jackson (Ovid), and Barbara Edwards, both of Wrightsville, GA, Dorothy Claxton, Fairbanks, Alaska, Judy White and Lynn Harrell (Sonny) both of Canoochee, GA., three brothers, Mickey Tanner (Mary) Swainsboro, GA, Donald and Cecil Tanner, both of Kite, GA; a host of nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be conducted on Friday, May 20, 2016 at 11 a.m. at the chapel of Poteet Funeral Home, 3465 Peach Orchard Road, Augusta, GA with Pastors Jamey Toler and James Tanner officiating. The family will receive friends on Friday at the funeral home from 10 a.m. until 11 a.m. Burial will be at Hillcrest Memorial Park, Augusta.
