Life Legacy Mrs. Martha E. Meigs Homemaker Trenton, SC , In honor and celebration of a beautiful spirit, Mrs. Martha Elizabeth (Betty) Meigs entered into God’s rest Wednesday, August 11, 2010 leaving the arms of her devoted family in North Augusta, SC. Born March 28, 1933 in Greensboro, Alabama, Betty lived as a devoted military wife, a loving mother, and a proud & adoring [great] grandmother. She was greeted in heaven by her parents, Mr.& Mrs. Malvin B.Rose (AL), and her brother, Malvin B. Rose, Jr. (AL). Known for her beautiful smile and gentle heart, she is survived by her husband of 58 years, SSGT (Retired) Lewis E. Meigs: her five children-Steve (Maggie) , Phoenix, AZ, Brenda Mealing (Max) Trenton, SC, Mike (Teresa) North Augusta, SC, Richard (Peggy)North Augusta, SC, and Bruce (Becky) Trenton,SC; 11 grandchildren-Amanda Meigs, John Mealing, Bryan Mealing, Matt Mealing, Daryl Strickland, Cheryl Rynearson, Christy Canaday, Kimmey Battles, Bruce Meigs, Jr., Amy Schofield and Causey Meigs; 11 great-grandchildren; her brother and sisters-Kenny Rose, Patricia Vail, Ruth Nelson, and Margaret Ryan, and several nieces and nephews (AL). The family will receive friends at Mt Zion Baptist Church, 720 Mt. Zion Rd, Trenton, SC at 1:00pm on Saturday, August 21, 2010. A memorial service will follow at 2:00pm. In lieu of flowers, they request that offerings be given to Mt. Zion Baptist Church or your preferred charity.
