Marjorie Lynne Jimenez

November 5, 1946 — November 1, 2016

Marjorie Lynne Jimenez We have lost our beloved sister; Marjorie Jimenez passed peacefully in her sleep after a battle with cancer. She was an educator for many years, imparting a love of learning, particularly in History, to several generations of students and acting as a coach and sponsor for both organized teams and aspiring students to reach their potential. At home, she helped to raise and nurture a myriad of nieces and nephews, with love and devotion and a deep sense of caring. She loved to read, and to cook, and enjoyed traveling; even to the end of her days taking trips between her medical therapy to far-flung points of her wide ranging interests. Though without children, she loved the children and grandchildren of her brothers as her own, and was a loyal and trusted co-conspiratorto a select group of friends. Holidays were her favorite time, with cooking and baking and family gatherings, and we will miss her deeply in the coming season. She is survived by her three brothers, James (Debra), Jon (Toni), and Juan (Kathie), and three generations of nieces and nephews, to whom she will always be their beloved “Narnie.” She is at peace and without pain, may God bless and keep her. Celebrate her life with us at The Poteet Funeral Home, 3465 Peach Orchard Rd, Augusta at 11:00am on Saturday November 5, 2016 with Vicar Debra Jimenez officiating.
