Mrs. Margarete Emma Ferguson of Fashion Drive in Augusta died on Monday, July 27, 2009.She was 83 years old. The family will receive friends on Wednesday, July 29, 2009 from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at The Poteet Funeral Home, 3465 Peach Orchard Road.The funeral service will be conducted on Thursday, July 30, 2009 at 11:00 a.m. in the funeral home chapel.Committal services will follow at Westover Memorial Park. Mrs. Ferguson is survived by her husband, Bill Ferguson; her daughter, Lorie Gregory, of Ventura, California; her sons, Billy Ferguson, and his wife, Karen, of New Brunswick, Georgia, and Zachary Ferguson, of Augusta; her grandchildren, Shawn Gregory, Kyler Gregory, Max Ferguson, Donnie Ferguson, and Isaiah Ferguson; her great grandson, Jackson Street Quick.Mrs. Ferguson was preceded in death by her siblings and her daughter, Shirley Ferguson in 1994. Mrs. Ferguson retired from Georgia Regional Hospital at Augusta as a chef, in 1988, after more than 20 years of service. She enjoyed sewing, cooking, quilting, and ceramics.
