Mardell Been Donner

Mrs. Mardell Been Donner, loving wife of Donald K. Donner, died on Thursday, July 01, 2010. The family will receive friends on Monday, July 5, 2010 from 6:00 until 8:00 pm at The Poteet Funeral Home, 3465 Peach Orchard Road, Augusta.The funeral service will be conducted on Tuesday, July 6, 2010 at 10:00 am in the funeral home chapel. Committal services will follow at Hillcrest Memorial Park. Mrs. Donner married her childhood sweetheart, Donald K. Donner, who survives her after more than 66 years of marriage.She is also survived by her daughter, Pamela Dawn Burden; her grandsons, Gunther H. Burden (Kerri), Jonathan D. Burden, Nathanael A. Burden (Jessica); sisters, Maudeen E. Swinehart and Marrabell E. Schultz; her brother, Milo E. Been; seventeen great-grandchildren; other loving relatives andclose friends.She was preceded in death by her grandson, Baby Matthew; her parents, Harley and Leona Saltzman Been; several brothers and sisters. Mrs. Donner was a member of Cokesbury United Methodist Church.She loved to crochet afghans and give them to hospitals, teachers, and POW organizations.She was an avid crafter.Nothing was more important to her than the time she spent with her great-grandchildren.The family asks that friends visit with them at the home of Nathanael and Jessica so that Mr. Donner will be able to rest.
