Lonnie Earl Best

Lonnie E. Best, 1SG USA (Ret.), 84 years old, beloved husband of 60 years to Linda Joyce Clem Best entered into rest on Sat., March 24th, 2018 at his home surrounded by his loving family. Mr. Best was born in Sylvan Grove, KS. He served 22 years in the military and was a civil servant as a GS 12 Instructor. He served two tours of duty in Vietnam and one tour of duty in Korea. He was a devoted Husband, Father, Grandfather, and Great Grandfather. He was Grandpa and Papa to many and was well known for his sense of humor. Additional survivors are his children Joyce McHam (Lonnie), Lori J. Best, Glen T. Best (Anja), Lisa Best Childs (Chris), Robert E. Best, Lonnie C. Best (Jamie), his sister Helen Mae Howington, brother-in-law David Clem (Amanda), grandchildren Jason McHam (Tiffany), Vicki Coats (Greg), Courtney O’Neal (James), Carrie Manders, David Childs, Taylor Blessing (Matt), and 10 Great Grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents Glenn and Estelle Best, brother Michael Best, and sister Norma Jeanne Best. Graveside services with full Military Honors will be held on Saturday, March 31, 2018 at 11:00 am at Bellevue Memorial Gardens, with Chaplain Sasa officiating. The family will receive friends at their residence Friday evening from 6-8:00 pm at the graveside on Saturday.
