Lois Dedman Miller 73, joined our Heavenly Father on Sunday February 16th, 2025. She was born on January 24th, 1952 in Tryon, NC to Monte & Emma Wilson Dedman. She was one of seven beloved children, and was preceded in death by her late husband Eddie Miller, her parents Monte and Emma Dedman, her sister Alice Marie Kuykendall , and her brothers Monte, Joe, Ron, and Bob Dedman. Better known to her family and close friends as "Boog", she is survived by her three children Emily New (Chris), Travis Phillips, and Nick Bennett (Allison) along with her three grandchildren Summer Bentley (Josh), Raynie Clark, and Trey Miller as well as four great grand children Madison, Emma Grace, David, and Olivia. “Boog" is also survived by her beloved sister Elaine Dedman Bailey and her favorite nieces Shannon Pollard & Brooke Lewis (Ben) along with multiple other nieces and nephews. Lois leaves behind a legacy of love and compassion and is remembered for willfully extending kindness to anyone in need of a helping hand, exemplifying what it means to possess a servant’s heart. She always said “If you leave my house hungry, then it’s your own fault!” She was also an avid dog lover and cared for many strays throughout the course of her life, but treated her fur babies Sassy, Mo, Boo, Flash, Candy, Duke, Zippy, Twoey and Rocko as equals to her most beloved humans. Lois is sure to be greeted fondly as she now approaches the Rainbow Bridge and is reunited with all of them. Anyone who ever met Lois loved her instantly because she never met a stranger. She was a guiding light for many and a beacon of support who offered a willing ear to even the least among us, and she often gave solace to others in reminding them “Always follow Jesus, and you will never lose your way.” She will be sorely missed by her family and loved ones, but all can rejoice now knowing that her body is restored in whole and light will be returned to her as she is taken into Our Father’s loving arms in Heaven. Her last wishes were to be returned home to the heart of Appalachia in the hills of the North Carolina mountains. Honoring those wishes, immediate family will host a private celebration of life service In Tryon, NC later this year in the Spring. In advance of that private service, the family would like to host a local memorial service Saturday February 22nd, 2025 at 11:00am where friends, loved ones and all who wish to pay their final respects will be received in kind at the sanctuary of Fairhaven Funeral Home located at 3507 Wrightsboro Rd, Augusta, GA 30909.
