Linda Frances Culpepper

Linda (Thompson) Culpepper, 79, entered into rest January 29, 2022. She was the beloved wife of the late Owen Rudolph (Rudy) Culpepper. Linda, a native of Augusta, Georgia was born December 24,1942 to the late Chestly (Buddy) and Lenora Smith Thompson. She grew up in the Crawford Avenue Church of God where she later loved teaching Junior High kids and singing in the choir. She became a charter member of The Sanctuary of Augusta where she was a devoted member of the Sanctuary Choir. Linda’s heart and passion was serving in the Coffee Shop every week greeting and making everyone feel welcome. As a young wife she worked at Murry Cookie Company and then started her family with two sons. Linda married the love of her life (Rudy) and together they have three sons. After her sons were grown, she followed Rudy to Alabama on a job transfer where she grew in a deep experience with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Returning to Augusta she reentered the workforce with Travelers Insurance Company which she later retired from. Survivors include three sons, Jeff Vernon, Randall (Jackie) Vernon, and Tony (Shirley) Culpepper; sister-in-law, Peggy (Thompson) Robinson (Julian); brother, Earl Thompson; sister, Doris (Michael) Barker; four grandchildren, Haleigh Vernon, Parker Vernon, Cody Morris and Cade Culpepper. She is preceded in death by her parents, sister, Faye Thompson, and brother, Ernest Thompson. A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Sunday, February 27, 2022 at The Sanctuary of Augusta at 3:00 pm with PastorBryan Cockrell officiating.
