Letha Brenda Greene, 79, of Clarks Hill, SC entered into her eternal rest in her home on Monday, October 7, 2024. Known as Brenda by all who knew her, she was a caregiver her whole life. She spent most of her career as the assistant administrator of Anne Maria Nursing Home in North Augusta, SC, a family -owned business. She was very proud of the work she did and was a strong advocate for the elderly. After retirement, Brenda became caregiver to many family members over the course of several years, never leaving their sides until the Lord took them home. Through these times, it became very clear how strong she was, not only in character, but in heart. Brenda was a devout Christian. She had absolutely no doubt that she was a child of God. She loved the Lord and shared this with others daily. It was important to her that everyone she knew had a relationship with Jesus, just as she did. Brenda was a long-time member of Whole Life Ministries in Augusta, GA. Of all the things Brenda did in her life, she was most proud of being a mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She adored her family and felt great joy in spending time with them. She also had a group of cousins, lovingly referred to as “the Girls”, who were her life-long best friends since very early childhood that she enjoyed spending time with, cherishing all the laughter and good times, and treasuring the relationship she had with each of them. Brenda celebrated a very special relationship with her companion, Robert “Bob” Lewis, whom she met after the passing of her husband. Bob brought great comfort, friendship, and love to Brenda at a time when she needed it the most. Brenda is preceded in death by her parents Jerome and Estelle Hobbs, her brother Romey Hobbs, sister Dorothy Annette Hobbs, and her beloved husband of 47 years Lawrence “Larry” H. Greene. She leaves behind those who loved her most, her son Keith Greene (Lavonne) of Johnston, SC, daughter Kellie Greene Pugh (Donald) of Clarks Hill, SC, grandchildren Jessie Greene (Grace), Jessica Greene, Joseph Greene, Emilee Grace Pugh, Kaitlyn Brown (Jordan), Brandon Pugh (Marie), and great-grandchildren Felix Greene and Luke Brown. The family would like to extend their sincerest and deepest gratitude to Brenda’s daughter-in-love Lavonne Greene for her unwavering devotion, love, and care she provided to Brenda as her primary caregiver during her extended illness. Her selflessness will never be forgotten. Also, to MSA Hospice for the compassion, dedication, and excellent care given to Brenda over the last couple of years. The family is forever grateful. There will be a small celebration of life for family members and loved ones at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to St. Jude’s Children's Hospital, a charity that Brenda supported faithfully for many years, or to Community Christian Academy in Martinez, GA. Brenda loved the idea of her grandchildren growing up with a Christian-based education and wanted the school to be a beacon of hope and light for many generations to come.
