Lelia Vera Thompson

Lelia Vera Thompson, 86, entered into rest in Dallas Texas on July 17, 2022. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and friend. She loved the Lord, her family and history.

Vera was born March 24, 1936, in Augusta, Georgia. She retired after 37 years as the Craft Director for Augusta-Richmond County. She was a member of Peace Free Will Baptist church, where she taught Sunday school for many years.

Survivors include her daughter, Beth Becker; Son-in-law-Arthur Dickerson; step sons Johnny Thompson (Kathy) and James Thompson (Linda); stepdaughter Linda Walls (Tom); Grandchildren, Vera Elkins (Rob), Lelia Hebert (Kevin), Thomas Dickerson, Andrew Dickerson (Anya), and many great grandchildren; Brothers, Howard Fulcher (Linda) and Gary Fulcher (Joan). She is preceded in death by her parents, Hobson and Virginia Fulcher; her husbands, Thomas Jones and Wesley Thompson; Daughter, Vicki Jo Dickerson, Sister Frances Stocker; and Brothers, Earl Fulcher, Sr, Doy Fulcher and Ronnie Fulcher.

Funeral services will be held on Monday, July 25, 2022, at 10:30 am at Abilene Baptist Church with Pastor Larry Williams officiating. Interment will follow at West View Cemetery. Family will receive friends and family at Abilene Baptist Church from 9:30-10:30 am prior to the service.

Pallbearers will be Brandon and Tyler Willing, James Thompson, Ryan and Cavin Fulcher, Larry Dale Williams, Dale Fulcher.

Honorary Pallbearers will be Wayne Fulcher, Ted Fulcher, Gary Fulcher, Jr.
