Laverne O. Mccoy

Hephzibah, GA. Laverne O. McCoy, age 74, of Hephzibah, passed away Tuesday, February 16, 2016, at her residence with her family surrounding her. She was born in Jenkins Co. on October 22, 1941 to the late John and Ruby Oglesby.She was a member of Miracle Baptist Church.She was preceded in death by her son, David Michael McCoy. She is survived by her husband of 58 years, Stacy McCoy; children, Patricia Ann McCoy of Hephzibah, Connie McCoy Johnson of Hephzibah, Lamar (Kimberly) McCoy of Harlem, Tammy (Willie) McCoy Robinson of Lexington, S.C. and Stacie McCoy of Hephzibah; 8 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren; 1 sister, Frances Ellison of Hephzibah and 3 brothers, Henry Oglesby, Larry Oglesby and Richard Oglesby all of Hephzibah. Family will receive friends Saturday 10 am to 12 pm at THE POTEET FUNERAL HOME, 3465 Peach Orchard Rd., HWY 25, Augusta, 30906, with services to follow at 12 pm at the funeral home with Pastor John Bartlett and Pastor Bud Moss, officiating.Burial to follow in Hephzibah-Vance Cemetery in Hephzibah.
