Larry Jerome Mcleroy

Larry Jerome McLeroy, 75, beloved husband of Sheryl Burroughs McLeroy, entered into rest on Tuesday, October 29, 2019 at his residence after a brief battle with Multiple Myeloma. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 pm on Thursday, October 31, 2019 at Poteet Funeral Home-Chapel at 3465 Peach Orchard Rd, Augusta with Chaplain Dexter Lambert officiating. Interment will follow in Westover Memorial Park. A native of Augusta, he attended the Academy of Richmond County, class of 1963.He proudly served in the U.S. Army National Guard from 1963 until 1969. Larry retired from Southern Bell in 2000, after 36 years of service.After retirement he worked as an Air Pressure Technology Instructor for AirOne. He was a loving husband of 54 years and a proud father and beloved Poppy to his five grandchildren. Survivors include his wife, his son David J. McLeroy, his daughters and sons-in-law Laura McLeroy (Davy) Fuller and Debra McLeroy (Wesley) McCord, his sisters Nancy Steed Jones and Lorene Heath Beasley, his grandchildren Kailey Fuller, Savannah Fuller, Jacob McCord, Emma McCord, and Caleb McCord, and his beloved furbaby Romey. The family will receive friends from 10:00 am until service time at the funeral home.
