Larry Franklin Fields

Mr. Larry Franklin Fields husband ofLynda Joyce (Preece) Fieldsdied on Friday July 8, 2011 at Doctor’s Hospital. He was 65 years old. The family will receive friends on Wednesday July 13, 2011 at The Poteet Funeral Home from 2:00 until 3:00 . The Funeral Service will be conducted at 3:00 p.m. in the Funeral Home Chapel. Along with his wife of forty three years, Lynda, he is also survived by his three children, two sons, Kevin & Misty Fields of Grovetown, Chris & Kathy Fields of Moncks Corner,SC, and a daughter, Niki & Richard Lamie of Pewaukee,WI. Grandchildren, Austin, Noah, Emily & Carter Fields of Grovetown and one sister, Nancy Fields McCoy of Melbourne,FL. Mr. Fields was bornOctober 26, 1945 in Richlands,VAto the late Edgar and Addie May Fields. He was a 1964 graduate of Mullens High School and lived in Oceana,WVfor twenty plus years. Larry was preceded in death by threebrothers, Buddy, Tommy and Harold Fields, and a grandson, Anthony Maddox Lamie and his father in law Luther Preece and mother in law Lydia Preece. Larry served in the U.S. Army from 1964 – 1967. Larry worked in the coal mines in West Virginia from 1968- 1987. He also worked at SDI Industries from 1988-2008.
