Kenneth Frederick Kennedy

September 10, 1946 — June 27, 2018

Kenneth Frederick Kennedy, 71, was received into the arms of his Savior Jesus Christ on June 27, 2018. Ken was born in Augusta, GA to the late Betty Rosamond Kennedy Estilette and Clyde Frederick Kennedy. He is survived by his beloved wife of 44 years, Norma Cooper Kennedy, and his children: Charles Kennedy, Chadwick Kennedy (Autumn), Kiersten Bohannon (Chuck), Ashli Morris (Tom), Bethany Smith (Preston), and his sister Sandra Kennedy Tatum (David). Ken has 10 grandchildren: Miles, Holland, and Eli Kennedy, Alexandra, Brenna, and Isabelle Morris, Liam and Bray Bohannon, Cassidy and Hamilton Smith. He graduated from the Georgia Institute of Technology in 1969 and continued to be a proud alumnus throughout his life. He was an inventor and out-of-the-box deep thinker, who was instrumental in launching Cybermotion Inc. in Roanoke, VA, where he co-authored patents and developed new robotic technology. He was devoted to his Christian faith and as he moved several times throughout his life, he found solace and peace in his community church and contributed as a Sunday school teacher. Although he was relatively new to the Orlando area, he quickly immersed himself in his new community, serving as a Cub Scout leader and supporter of Ligonier Ministries.Besides his love of family and friends, Ken strived for a deep and personal relationship with Jesus. He witnessed through words and actions to everyone he knew and humbly led a life of deep Christian faith. Visitation will be held June 29, 2018 from 6:00-8:00pm at Poteet Funeral Home, 3465 Peach Orchard Road, Augusta, GA 30906. Funeral services will be held June 30, 2018 at 11:00am at Ascension Lutheran Church, 2860 Wells Drive in Augusta. Burial will follow at Hillcrest Memorial Park. Pallbearers are Miles Kennedy, Eli Kennedy, Bray Bohannon, Hamilton Smith, Chuck Bohannon, Tom Morris, and Preston Smith. Ken will be deeply missed, but his family is comforted by his assurance of salvation. The Family is grateful for the Pastoral ministries of Saint Andrews Chapel and Hospice of the Comforter.
