Keith Alan Rutherford, 63, of Graniteville, South Carolina, passed away on June 18th 2024 in Augusta, Georgia. Keith was predeceased by his parents, Dale and Esther. He is survived by his wife, Amy, his four siblings, Kelly, Kent, Kevin and Mary, his seven children, Brad, Britney, Andrew, Scott, Dane, Parker, Spencer, and his seven Grandchildren, Asher, Miles, Silas, Estelle, Naomi, Florence, and Rowan. Keith was born on July 6th 1960 in the small farming town of Audubon, Iowa. From a young age Keith learned to work on the family farm and would often tell stories about how he had to clean up after the pigs and do various work around the farm. True to this humble beginning, Keith would apply the same work ethic to his various jobs, but especially his family as he would time and time again provide for them not only monetarily, but also with lessons on how to work with their hands to build and fix things. His favorite medium for this was woodworking and Keith was truly a great carpenter, making toys for his sons, building shelves for his very large book collection and even making his own assortment of pipes. Keith was not only a great carpenter, but was also a loving father, husband and devout Christian as well. It could be said without a doubt that the Bible was not only his favorite book (as he read it at least once a year, cover to cover), but also the blueprint for how he would lead his wife and family throughout life’s hardships. While those hardships would prove to be many, Keith was a fighter. He always made sure to approach every problem in life with a God-centered mind and with love for his family in his heart. While at times a very serious man, Keith also had a wonderful sense of humor and never missed a chance to tell a funny story or tell a silly joke. Without a doubt, Keith leaves behind an undeniable legacy through his children and grand-children who all miss him dearly and will forever carry the lessons and laughs that he shared with them.
