Katherine Melson

Mrs. Katherine Vandiver Melson, 75, of Raytown, Georgia entered into rest May 3, 2017 at her son’s residence, wife of the late Walter Gordon Melson. Katherine a native of Greensboro, Ga., a lifelong resident of Raytown and was a homemaker and a member of Raytown Baptist Church. She was known for her generosity and love for her family and church. Survivors include her son, Hoyt Jackson Melson (Danielle); brothers, Jerry Vandiver (Connie); Darryl Vandiver (Kaye); Thomas ‘Trick’ Vandiver (Geraldine); Louie Lee Vandiver (JoAnne); Marion Vandiver (Faye). Sisters, Carolyn Batson (Donald); Linda Vandiver Hutto. Two grandchildren, Kinsley Grace Melson and Joseph ‘Joey’ Chadwick. Graveside services were held Friday, May 5, 2017 at Raytown Baptist Church Cemetery with Reverend Wade Palmer and Chaplain Randy Fisher officiating at 2:00 pm.
