Mrs. Julie A. Borja of Rio Pinar Drive in Augusta passed away on July 14, 2009.She was 44 years old. The memorial service will be conducted on Friday, July 17, 2009 at 1:00 pm in the chapel of The Poteet Funeral Homes, 3465 Peach Orchard Road, Augusta.The family will greet friends at the funeral home following the memorial service. Julie is survived by her husband, SGM Concordio Borja; her parents, Walter and Sharon Lundin of Cambridge, Minnesota; her daughters, Suzanne Borja and Rhende Borja, of Augusta; her son, PFC Benjamin Borja, of Ft. Huachuca, Arizona; her sister, Susan Lundin, of Phoenix, Arizona. Julie was a graduate of Methodist College in Fayetteville, North Carolina.She was a veteran of the United States Army.Julie taught at Willis Foreman Elementary School in Augusta. Julie was diagnosed with Non-Hodgkin’s Lymphoma in 1999.Through the years, she required multiple blood and platelet transfusions.The family encourages their friends to honor Julie’s memory by donating blood or platelets.For more information, please call Eisenhower Medical Center at 706.787.1473.
