Julia W. Martin Wife of Henry B. Martin III Mrs. Julia W. Martin of Hephzibah died on Friday, March 19, 2010 following several years of declining health.She was 59 years old. The family will receive friends today, Sunday, March 21, 2010 from 4:00 pm until 8:00 pm at The Poteet Funeral Home, 3465 Peach Orchard Road, Augusta.The funeral service will be conducted on Monday, March 22, 2010 at 11:00 am in the funeral home chapel.Mrs. Martin will be cremated and the burial will be private at a later date.Pastor Larry Beam will officiate. Mrs. Martin is survived by her husband of more than 42 years, Mr. Henry B. Martin III, of Hephzibah; her children, Joseph Dwayne Martin and his wife, Melinda, of Augusta, Henry B. Martin IV of Atlanta, Shirley M. King of Hephzibah, and Melissa M. Alewine and her husband, Lee, of Hephzibah; her five grandchildren, Jennifer Martin, Jessica Martin, Julia King, Kelsie Alewine, and Andrew Alewine; her great-granddaughter, Hailey Marie; her brothers, Cecil T. Wimberly, Curtis Wimberly, and Jimmy Sikes; her sisters, Kay Wimberly and Melinda Sikes.Mrs. Martin was preceded in death by her son, Clayton Carl Martin, in 1989, and by her son-in-law, Anthony T. King, in 2001. Julia was a housewife and enjoyed camping with her family.She will be remembered as a loving and devoted wife, mother, and grandmother.
