Joyce Newsome Pollard

Mrs. Joyce Newsome Pollard of Martinez,GA received her angel wings on Tuesday November 14, 2023. Joyce was born March 1, 1949 in Augusta, GA . to Lonnie and Corrine McKinney Newsome. She married William (Jeff) Pollard on June 11, 1977 in Aiken ,SC. Joyce was a teacher's assistant for 20 years at Sue Reynolds Elementary School helping mold the minds of our future's generation. She was a loving wife, mother , grandmother and sister. oyce truly lived her life to the fullest through simple pleasures like Syrus and Maxwell her amazing dogs. She also had an uncanny ability to reach in a deep and positive way . Preceded in death by her parents ,brothers and a sister. Mike Newsome, Donald Lee Baughman, Charles Baughman, Lonnie"Pete; Newsome and Janet McDonald. Survivors include her husband William (Jeff) Pollard ;son Joel M. (Donna) Golden lll;sisters Carolyn Baughman, Patricia johnston and Mary "Liz" Parks;brother Larry Newsome; two grandchildren Joel M. (Ashton) Golden Vl and William D. Golden ;and numerous other family members and friends. A gathering of family and friends will be held Tuesday November 21, 2023 from 3 until 5PM at McNeill Funeral Home and Central Savannah River Crematory , 3507, Wrightsboro Road, Augusta
