Joyce D. Meadows, 79, entered into rest December 23, 2022, in Atlanta, Georgia, wife of Campbell Charles Meadows.
Joyce was a loving wife, Mother, Grandmother, sister, and friend to all who knew her. She always had a smile and a kind word for both strangers and friends alike.
Joyce was employed as a bookkeeper first at A&P Grocery Store in National Hills then for the Richmond County Board of Education. She began at Richmond Academy and then transferred to CT Walker until retiring.
She enjoyed spending time with her family and friends, traveling, fishing, reading, shopping, cooking and baking. She was well known for her chicken salad, red velvet cake and fruit cakes that she would share with friends throughout the year.
She was a lifelong member and faithful servant of Crawford Avenue Baptist Church. She loved her Lord & Savior and her church family. Joyce enjoyed serving others and spent time doing so alongside her sisters in Christ, the Christian Women’s Fellowship #5!
Joyce was married to the love of her life for 61 years. Her family, especially her granddaughters, brought her the greatest joy in life. She will be missed dearly by so many.
Additional survivors include daughters Gena Rivers (Jimmy); Sherry Smith (Billy); sister LaVerne Burch (Dwight); two granddaughters Kayla Smith and Katie Smith; four sisters in laws Ann Meadows; Connie Morris (Wayne); Blanche Powell; Mary Pinion Shearer (Rusty); she also leaves behind many nieces & nephews that she loved dearly. She is preceded in death by her parents Walter Hubert & Ollie Beard Pinion and her brother Wayne Pinion.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, December 30, 2022, at Crawford Avenue Baptist Church at 2:00 pm with Reverend Burt Daniel officiating. Interment will follow at Westover Memorial Park.
Pallbearers will be Gary Atwell, Chase Brannen, Jessie Holmes, Ivan Mesa, Fred Williams and Stephen Story. Honorary Pallbearers will be Christian Women’s Fellowship #5.
The family will receive friends at the church on Friday, December 30, 2022, from 1:00-2:00 pm.
