Joseph (Joe) William Piper, of Aiken, SC, left this world peacefully on Saturday, August 26, 2023 after battling a rare and aggressive cancer surrounded by his loving family at the age of 59 years young. He was an only child born on January 28, 1964 to his dearly departed and loving parents, Holbrook and Margaret H Edwards Piper. The Piper family has been part of the area since the end of the American Revolution. He is survived by his devoted wife of 23 years, Faith A Kindred Piper; five loving children including 3 stepchildren – Kaitlyn V Baker (Nathan), Ashley A Sanders, Wesley A Sanders and 2 children – Joanna G Piper, Joseph (Joey) E Piper, as well as 1 grandson – Clayton R Rushton. Joe was employed by Eastern Motorcycle Parts, Inc in Blackville, SC for approximately 27 years. Everyone there was like family to him as well. Joe was a man of many talents, interests and skills. Music, including playing guitar, bass, fiddle, soprano sax, mandolin and piano. He enjoyed singing and leading worship at Shiloh Baptist and Lighthouse Baptist Churches. He loved running and completed 6 marathons, countless half marathons and other distances. He enjoyed biking and swimming, drawing, journaling, writing poetry and devotionals, crafting, sewing, cooking, camping, hiking and visiting historical sites and state and national parks. Joe will be missed by many. Knowing he is with his Savior Jesus Christ in Heaven, his celebration of life memorial will be held on the grounds of Odell Weeks Park in Aiken, SC on Saturday, September 2, 2023 at 10:00am. Live streaming is planned for those unable to travel.
