Augusta, GA. Joseph “Mark” Pierce, age 55, of Augusta, passed away Tuesday, September 29, 2015 at Doctors Hospital. He was born July 19, 1960 in Ft. Gordon, GA., to the late William H. Pierce, Sr. and Margie Wood Butler.He retired from East Central Regional Hospital after 27 years as a Health Services Tech.Mark enjoyed classical music, old western movies, liked cool cars and enjoyed socializing with all his friends on Facebook. He was a member of Windsor Heights Baptist Church. He is survived by his wife of 13 years, Cheryl (Arnette) Pierce; 1 son, Joseph Mark Pierce, II and 1 daughter, Lindsay Marie Pierce both of Augusta; 2 brothers, William H. “Bill” Pierce, Jr. of Augusta, and Bruce Pierce of Ft. Smith, AR.; 5 sisters, Maria Hodges of Lincolnton, GA., LaJuana Smelcer of Lawson, MO., Angela Appleton of Daphne, AL., Denise Thompson of Blythewood, S.C. and Patricia Thompson of Appling. Family will receive friends Thursday 6 pm to 8 pm at THE POTEET FUNERAL HOME, 3465 Peach Orchard Rd., HWY 25, Augusta, 30906. Funeral Services will be Friday 2 pm at the funeral home chapel.Burial to follow in Hillcrest Memorial Park.
