John Wesley Thompson

Augusta, GA. John Wesley Thompson, age 89, passed away at his residence with his loving family surrounding him. He was born May 27, 1926 in Avera, GA., to the late John N. and Laura Faglier Thompson.He retired from the Independent Insurance Co. after 20 plus years of faithful service.He was preceded in death by his first wife, Ann Jones Thompson; a grandson, John O. Thompson, Jr. and 3 brothers. He is survived by his wife, Vera Fulcher Thompson; 3 children, John O. (Kathy) Thompson, Sr. of Polk City, FL., Linda (Tom) Walls of Sanford, FL., and James (Linda) Thompson, Sr. of Apopka, FL., 2 step-daughters, Vicki (Art) Dickerson of Hephzibah and Belinda Jones of Hephzibah; 11 grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren and 1 great great grandchild;1 brother, Jimmy (Sara) Thompson of Bedford, VI. Family will receive friends Thursday 10 am to 11 am at THE POTEET FUNERAL HOME, 3465 Peach Orchard Rd., HWY 25, Augusta, 30906, with services to follow at 11 am at the funeral home with Pastor Larry Williams, officiating.Burial will be in Westview Cemetery.
