John C. Paulos

August 16, 1944 — September 22, 2022

John C. Paulos, born on Aug 16,1944, died peacefully in his sleep on Sept 22, 2022. John spent most of his life in the Augusta and North Augusta area. In his youth he was a member of Hill Baptist Church. He attended Tubman Jr High and Richmond Academy, where he graduated in 1962. He enjoyed his years at ARC and was on the track team and the band. After graduating from ARC, he attended Augusta Tech to be a draftsman. He worked for CSRA Testing and Engineering Company for 10 years and Besson and Pope Consulting Engineers for about 15 years.
He loved archaeology and was a member of the Augusta Archaeological Society. He also enjoyed “rocks and minerals” and often made trips to Graves Mountain when it was open to the public.
John also loved any kind of history, especially the history of GA and SC and his hometown Augusta. His interest in history led him to become a volunteer at “Willington on the Way,” an endangered historical site near McCormick.
Probably his greatest enjoyment was hanging out with his Harley Davidson “Rogue” buddies. They rode often and he had made 50 trips to “Bike Week” in Daytona, as well as several to Sturgis, SD.
John was predeceased by his parents George and Mary Paulos and his brother Jimmy Paulos, all of Augusta. He is survived by a daughter, Sheri Wilby, a sister Dianne Yost, a brother Charles Paulos, and many cousins, nieces, and nephews. He will be missed by so many.
Family and friends are invited to celebrate his life with food and fellowship on Sunday, October 23, 2022, at 1:00 PM at Riverview Park Pavillion in North Augusta, SC.
