John H. Messick, Sr.

John H. Messick, Sr. 90, entered into rest December 30, 2020, husband of Mary Puckett Messick of 70 years. John a native of Murfreesboro, TN moved to Martinez in 1991 to be near his son, daughter- in-law and granddaughters. He retired from GE in TN and worked for University Hospital as a security guard for 10 years in Augusta before final retirement. He was a member of Pineview Baptist Church, He served in the US Army during the Korean Conflict. In addition to his wife Mary, survivors include his son, Reverend John H. Messick, Jr. (Cheryl); two granddaughters Mary Grace Jaques and Anna Messick; brother, Jerry Messick; sisters, Robbie Ivie and Peggy Bender. A memorial service will be held at a later date.
