John I Martin

Augusta,GA- Mr. John I. Martin age 87, husband of Juanita Martin went home to be with the Lord on January 26, 2011 at the VA Hospital in Augusta. Visitation will be Sunday, January 30, 2011 at the funeral home from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. Services for Mr. Martin will be held on Monday January 31, 2011 in the funeral home chapel at 12:00p.m.with Reverend Charlie Pennington and Reverend Stewart Waller conducting the service. The committal service will follow the funeral service at Westover Memorial Park. Mr. Martin served in the U.S. Army’s4th Infantry during World War II.He retired from Continental Can after 23 years of service as a scale man.Mr. Martin was the founder of Martin Treesteps and Deerlix. He was a good husband,father and grandfather. Survivors include his son John Robert Martin, ten grandchildren and six great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by one daughter, Carolyn Martin Warden and one son, James Dudley Martin. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Georgia War Veterans Home.
