John "Johnny" Taylor Baker

August 5, 1961 — July 12, 2023

John “Johnny” Taylor Baker 61, of Augusta Georgia passed away at home on July 12, 2023. He leaves behind his wife Angela Baker also of Augusta, GA, his sister Jerre Crocker of Spartenburg, SC, and his sister in law Helen Moore of Missouri. He also leaves behind several cousins, nieces, nephews and friends who loved him dearly. John was preceded in death by his mother Frances Pace Baker and his father Lloyd Baker and his brother Danny Moore all from Missouri. John grew up in Campbell, Missouri graduating in 1979 from Campbell High School. He received his BSE from Southeast Missouri State University. He was a very successful coach and history teacher in Campbell and Southland Missouri teaching grades K – 5 and 9 – 12. He later moved to South Carolina and worked for Adidas and several other companies before working with His House Ministries in Columbia, South Carolina – his final place of employment before his disability retirement. John was a believer in Christ and was a member of the First Baptist Church of Evans, Georgia. He loved the Lord and was an avid supporter of the mission and beliefs of His House Ministries in South Carolina. A Celebration of Life service will be held at the His House Chapel at 765 Meeting Street in West Columbia, SC on Sunday July 23 rd at Noon. The Reverend Roger Weaver will officiate this ceremony of life. Another Celebration of Life service will be held in his hometown of Campbell, Missouri at the Landess Funeral home located at 1213 Allen Road, Campbell, Missouri on Saturday July 29 th Memorial will begin at 10 AM with service at 11AM.
