Mr. Joe Laymond Chavis Carpenter Augusta, Ga., entered into rest June 26, 2014 at Charlie Norwood VA Medical Center. Mr. Joe Laymond Chavis, 77, husband of Gail Bradford Chavis. Mr. Chavis a native of Orangeburg, SC lived most of his life in Augusta where he was a Carpenter. He proudly served in the U.S. Army. A memorial gathering will be Monday from 11:00 amto 1:00 pm at McNeill Funeral Home with Military Honors. He is survived by a son, Joseph A. Chavis (Melissa) Augusta, Ga., daughter, Lisa C.
