Jimmie George Jones

Mr. Jimmy George Jones, 74, of Augusta, Ga, passed away on Friday, March 13, 2015 at Doctor’s Hospital. A lifelong resident of Augusta, he was the son of the late Coxy and Georgia Jones. He retired after thirty three years as a welder from Olin Chemical Company. Jimmy was a Blue Lodge Mason, a 32nd Degree Scottish Rite, and a member of the Alee Shrine Club In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife Betty Jones, and daughter, Margie Rester. He is survived by his companion, Juanita Powell, sons, Robert (Wanda) Jones, Augusta, GA, William Jones, Augusta, GA, Ronnie (Priscilla) Lord, North Augusta, SC, Frank Lord, Augusta, GA, daughters, Becky Jones, Sabrina (Shane) Fulcher, Augusta, GA, Sandy (Ed) Bailey, Appling, GA, Tina (Raymond) Green, Martinez, GA, Barbara (Jay) Johnson, brother, David Jones, sister, Daisy Corley, Emmie Burch, twelve grandchildren, and twelve greatgrandchildren. A memorial service will be held on Monday, March 16, 2015 at 2pm in the Chapel of Poteet Funeral Home, 3465 Peach Orchard Rd, Augusta, GA. The family will receive friends after the service at the funeral home.
