Hephzibah, Georgia Mrs. Jessie Sims Lee, 80, of Hephzibah, Georgia went home to be with her Lord on Thursday, June 2, 2016. Mrs. Lee was a native and lifelong resident of Augusta.She was retired from Southern Bell Tel & Tel Co. Survivors include her husband of 59 years, Herbert C. Lee Jr. of Augusta; a daughter, Mrs. Sydney Lee Skinner of Augusta, and her husband, Harmon Skinner; a son, Leonard C. Lee of Augusta, and his wife, Shirley Lee; two grandchildren, Jennifer S. Altman and Christopher Skinner, and five grandchildren.Mrs. Lee was preceded in death by her parents, John Cooper Sims, Sr. and Frances Bridwell Sims. The family will receive friends on Tuesday, June 7, 2016 from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Poteet Funeral Home, 3465 Peach Orchard Road Augusta.Graveside Services will be held on Wednesday, June 8, 2016 at 10:30 a.m. at Hillcrest Memorial Park with Pastor Joe Lennon officiating. (Everyone is asked to meet at the grave.) In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Parkinson Disease Association.
