Jerry Tinney

Mr. Jerry Tinney Ret. Augusta Chronicle Evans, Ga., entered into rest Sunday, July 26, 2015 at Westwood Nursing facility Evans, Ga. Mr. Jerry Tinney, loving husband of Mrs. Laura Wikel Tinney. Jerry, a native of Eastaboga,AL lived most of his life in Augusta area. He was employed at The Augusta Chronicle as a District Manager of Circulation, and he proudly served in the U.S. Army. He was a member of Christ Baptist Church in North Augusta, SC. Additional survivors include, his daughter, Amanda Kate Barry and her husband William; three brothers, James Tinney and his wife, Betty, William Tinney and his wife, Sandy, and Terrell Tinney and his wife, Jean; and one sister, Elizabeth Smith and her husband, Otis. He is preceded in death by his parents, Mr. Howell Wilmont & Azile Anderson Tinney; sister, Peggy Tinney; and brothers, Monroe and Blanchard Tinney. A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday July 29th at Christ Baptist Church, 770 W Five Notch Rd, North Augusta, S.C, with Dr. Eddie West officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to the Christ Baptist Church Building Fund.
