Jerry M. Smith

Jerry M. Smith, age 60, of Augusta, passed away Saturday, October 25, 2014, at his residence with his family surrounding him. Jerry was born February 20, 1954 in Kittanning, PA. to the late William M. Smith and Juanita Gouge Smith, who resides in Hanover, PA.Mr. Smith retired from the U. S. Army and worked at the Augusta State Prison in the Maintenance Department. He is survived by his wife of 17 years, Anglia Hill Smith; his children, Brian Smith of Germany, Steven Smith of Germany, Dominique Smith of Augusta and Kendra Hill of Augusta; his grandchildren, Jerry Smith and Delia Hill; brothers and sisters, William Smith, Jr., Robert Smith, Carl Smith, Rosalie Brumbaugh, Larry Smith, Wanda Smith, Brenda Smith, the late Daniel G. Smith and the late Paul Smith. Family will receive friends Tuesday 6 pm to 8 pm at THE POTEET FUNERAL HOME, 3465 Peach Orchard Rd., HWY 25, Augusta, 30906, 706.798.8886. Services will be Wednesday at 11 am at the funeral home with Rev. John Bartlett, officiating.Burial to follow in Hillcrest Memorial Gardens with Full Military Honors.
