Jean Hildebrant, loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, has gone to Heaven, and is probably even now directing the wait staff and setting the table for the Lord. From a small town upbringing in Mississippi, she became an accomplished business person, raised or helped to raise three generations of (usually) well-behaved children, cousins, nieces and nephews, traveled the world, and brightened the life and prospects of everyone she met. She is survived by daughter Marjorie Jimenez, three sons; James, Jon, and Juan Jimenez, two step-children, Peter and Susan Hildebrant, 11 grandchildren, and 23 great-grandchildren, as well as enumerable nieces and nephews, by blood, by generation, and honorary, all of whom knew her as Meme. She was Grandmother to the world. She will be remembered with love by the children (of all ages) she touched, respect by those who had to deal with her in business, be it family or professional, and trepidation from those who did not deal with her fairly. She could sing, tell a joke, cook a three-course meal in a pressure cooker in under 10 minutes, and charm a smile from a statue. No mother lion ever guarded her pride with greater love or ferocity. We have lost our Matriarch, our sounding board, our roots and our wings. She will long be missed, but never forgotten. Service will be held Saturday, 1 p.m. October 22nd, at Poteet Funeral Home, 3465 Peach Orchard Rd.,with Vicar Debra Jimenez officiating .
