Janie H. Hobbs

Augusta, GA. Janie H. Hobbs, age 92, of Augusta, passed away Tuesday, March 8, 2016, at University Hospital. She was born December 10, 1923, in Warren Co., GA., to the late Samuel and Ruby Reece Hyman.She was preceded in death by her husband, John “Red” Hobbs; a daughter, Carolyn Wiggins (Charles) and 3 brothers. She is survived by her 2 sons, James Ronald (Helga) Hobbs of Augusta and John Calvin (Janet) Hobbs of Augusta; 2 sisters, Barbara Jean Eaton of Warrenton and Dorothy Shifflett of Augusta; 9 grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren and 3 great great grandchildren. Family will receive friends Thursday (TODAY) 6 pm to 8 pm at THE POTEET FUNERAL HOME, 3465 Peach Orchard Rd., HWY 25, Augusta, 30906. Graveside services will be Friday 3 pm at Hillcrest Memorial Park.Please meet at Hillcrest Memorial Park.Presiding will be Rev. Phillip A. Winsett, officiating.
