James Arthur Wyles of Augusta, Georgia passed away at the age of 69 after a courageous battle with cancer, surrounded by loved ones who will continue to honor his legacy by living life to the fullest. He was born in Bremerhaven, Germany on December 3, 1955. Upon completing high school he joined The United States Military and faithfully served, where his spirit was tamed and his love for our country grew. After leaving the military he became a small motor mechanic and salesman for over 30 years, at Kid Kar based in Augusta, Georgia. He was well known as the neatly-organized mechanic quick to quote an Old Western re-run with a thick-ashed Marlboro and black coffee in hand. James was happiest with his face to the wind touring on his Harley, jamming to The Bobs (Marley and Dylan). He had a gift of finding humor in the most mundane circumstances of life. James is preceded in death by his father, Jimmy R. Wyles and his mother, Hildegarde B. Wyles. He is survived by his sister, Johanne Jacobs (Jack), brother, Jeff Wyles (Kathy) and his niece Johanna Buchanan (Zack), nephews Matthew Jacobs, Alex Wyles and Noah Wyles. A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
