James Herman Tussey

Mr. James Herman “ Jimmy” Tussey, of Old Ironsides Blvd., died on Tuesday, November 3, 2009.He was 85 years old. The family will receive friends on Thursday, November 5, 2009 from 7:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. at The Poteet Funeral Home, 3465 Peach Orchard Road.The funeral service will be conducted on Friday, November 6, 2009 at 2:00 p.m. in the funeral home chapel.Pastor Mike Freed will officiate.Committal services will follow at Gracewood Cemetery in Gracewood, GA. Mr. Tussey was a member ofAscension Lutheran Church.He served in the Merchant Marines during WWII.He retired as an engineer for the Graniteville Company. Following his retirement, he was a farmer and operated a seed and feed business. He was an avid fisherman, outdoorsman, and animal lover. Mr. Tussey was a loving husband and father. Mr. Tussey is survived by his wife of 61 years, Lillie Oellerich Tussey; his children, Mary Tussey Frew and her husband Donald William Frew Jr.of Duluth, GA; James H. Tussey II and his wife Nancy Lee Tussey of Augusta; two grandchildren, Donald Frew and James Frew. Pallbearers will be Robert Oellerich, Walter Oellerich, Ted Oellerich, Dee Oellerich, Charles Oellerich, his grandsons, and his son-in-law.
