James M. Thompson

Augusta, GA. James M. Thompson, Sr., age 80, passed away Tuesday, July 29, 2014. He was born February 25, 1934 to the late Lewis and Beulah Rowsey Thompson. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army and had worked for the City of Augusta in the Waste Water Treatment Division. He was preceded by his wife, Joann White Thompson; 2 sisters and 1 brother. He is survived by his children; James M. Thompson, Jr. of Lorado, WV., Becky Paul of Augusta, Dennis Thompson of Augusta, Linda Hulsey of Dearing and Rhonda Scott of Hephzibah; 16 grandchildren and 25 great grandchildren; 2 brothers, Carl Thompson of North Carolina and Joe Thompson of West Virginia. Family will receive friends Friday 10 am to 11 am at THE POTEET FUNERAL HOME, 3465 Peach Orchard Rd., HWY 25, 30906, 706.798.8886 with funeral services to follow at 11 am at the funeral home. Burial will be at the convenience of the family in Bellevue Memorial Gardens.
