James Lyle Stone

James Lyle Stone, age 51, passed away May 4, 2012 at home, in Augusta, Georgia.He is survived by his loving wife of 16 years, Karen Herbert Stone; two daughters, Stephanie Lee Tatum (Justin) of Claxton, Georgia and Amanda Blair Slayden of Augusta, Georgia; and a granddaughter, Amy Gwen Tatum of Claxton, Georgia.He is also survived by his mother, Iris Walker Stone of Tifton, Georgia; his two brothers, Ira Mark Stone, of Tifton, Georgia, and Phillip Todd Stone (Cindy), of Leesburg, Georgia; and several nieces, nephews, cousins, and in-laws.He is preceded in death by his father, James Thomas Stone. "Lyle" was born in Tifton, Georgia and graduated from Tiftarea Academy in 1978.He received his Bachelor's Degree in 2002 from Covenant College in Chattanooga, Tennessee.He was employed with Hertz Corporation in Augusta, Georgia.He enjoyed Amateur Radio, reading, boating, hockey, traveling and loved being "Pop Pop" to his favorite girl. There will be a Memorial service celebrating the life of this special, and very much loved, member of our family at 3 o'clock on Tuesday, May 15th, at Albritton-Beaumont Funeral Home at 1020 North Tift Avenue, Tifton, Georgia.Family will receive friends at the funeral home on Monday, the preceding evening, from 6 to 8 o'clock.
