James H. Spurlin

Augusta, GA. James H. Spurlin, age 81, of Augusta, passed away Monday, August 10 2015, at Eisenhower Army Medical Center. He was born January 1, 1934 in Opp, AL., to the late Henry and Florine Corbitt Spurlin.He retired from the U.S. Army as a Master Sergeant and he worked for 13 years as a Manager for McDonald’s.He was preceded in death by 1 son, Dennis J. Spurlin. He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Ruth (Millheim) Spurlin; children, Michael (Cindy) Spurlin of Maryland, Pam Stagich (Sean Finan) of Martinez, Robert (Laurel) Spurlin of Grovetown and Heidi Thompson (Chuck Neeley) of Augusta; 11 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren. Family will receive friends Thursday 6 pm to 8 pm at THE POTEET FUNERAL HOME, 3465 Peach Orchard Rd., HWY 25, Augusta, 30906.
