James Edward Pinkston

We mournfully announce the passing of James Edward Pinkston, 92, of Martinez, Georgia. James passed away on Saturday December 3, 2022, after a life well lived.

James, born to Mary Morgan and James William Pinkston, he took his first breath on October 7 1930. James was a force to be reckoned with from the beginning. He pursued a career as a master carpenter for over 40 years.

James was predeceased by his loving wife Barbara, his parents and his sister, Dortha Pinkston Fraley. He is survived by his 4 sons and 1 daughter, Larry Pinkston (Sue), Bob Pinkston, John Pinkston (Elena Ivanovna) Bill Pinkston (Patricia), Theresa Smith (Thomas), 6 grandchildren Daniel Pinkston, David Pinkston (Catherine), Emily Pinkston, Diana Alexander Nalenaya , Ethan Alexander Pinkston, James William Pinkston. He was an avid outdoorsman who spent much of his time gardening.

James was a deacon at Cornerstone Pentecostal Church of Augusta, Georgia. We, his family from far and near will miss him dearly.

Services will be held at Grace United Methodist Church Main Chapel on Saturday December 10, visitation with family at 1pm and services will begin at 2pm . Services will be presided over by, Reverend Daniel Eplee.  In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to The American Cancer Society in honor of James Edward Pinkston.
