Our beloved Jimmy passed away unexpectedly on October 17, 2024 at the Charlie Norwood VA Medical Center in Augusta, Georgia. He was drafted into the Army and served our country in the Vietnam War as a radio telephone operator. In 1971, he was awarded The Army Commendation Medal. When Jimmy returned home from Vietnam he became a licensed amateur radio operator and a Morse code operator communicating with people all over the world. Jimmy enjoyed camping, boating, hunting, and fishing. He pursued several hobbies over the years. Most recently he perfected making and bottling his own wine. He is survived by his wife of 41 years Cindy Marie Brunson, Port Wentworth, GA, son Patrick James Brunson, Savannah, GA, grandchildren John Patrick Brunson, James Peyton Brunson, both of Savannah, GA, and a brother Frank E. Brunson, Jacksonville, FL. The family would like to express their heartfelt appreciation to the caring doctors and staff at Charlie Norwood VA Medical Center in Augusta, GA and the VA Augusta Fisher House in Augusta, Georgia for their “home away from home” temporary lodging for family members while Jimmy was receiving inpatient care. He will truly be missed by his family and friends. May he be forever in our hearts. To honor Jimmy’s wishes, a service will not be held. KB4ILV out.
