Survivors include one son, James Richard Grates, Grovetown, one sister; Joann Grates Dixon, Harlem, Ga. and one brother, Paul Joseph Grates, Greenwood, SC, one grandson Devin R. Grates, Preceding him in death are his parents Kenneth & Jean P. Grates and a sister Geraldine Snellings.Memorial services will be conducted Saturday at 11:00 am at Powell Baptist Church.
