It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of James Padgett Gay, a beloved resident of Lincolnton, GA, who departed on Friday, October 25, 2024, at the age of 87. Born in Augusta, GA, on a warm Saturday, July 31, 1937. Padgett lived a life full of dedication, service, and love. Padgett was a proud member of the United States Navy, where he served his country with honor and distinction. His commitment to service was also evident in his long career as a maintenance worker at International Paper in Augusta, GA, where he was respected and admired by his colleagues for his steadfast work ethic and unwavering integrity. He was preceded in death by his loving parents, James Greald Gay and Eva Gay, and dear sister, Jerrylena Marshall whose memories he cherished deeply. Though Padgett has left this world, his spirit lives on in the fond memories and stories shared by friends and family. Padgett's life will be celebrated through arrangements provided by Fairhaven Funeral Home and Cremation Services. Family and friends are invited to honor his memory and the remarkable legacy he leaves behind. Though our hearts are heavy with the loss of Padgett, we find comfort in the knowledge that his life was a blessing to countless others.
