Jack Floyd Burnham

Augusta, GA Jack Floyd Burnham, age 73, of Augusta, passed away Thursday, March 20, 2014, at Doctors Hospital with his family surrounding him. He was born April 15, 1940, to the late Gordon and Nadine Smith Burnham. Jack was a devoted Florida Gators Fan and a Miami Dolphins Fan.He loved NASCAR racing having watched his favorite driver, #99 Carl Edwards.He also listened to gospel music.He served in the U.S. Army. He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Linda (Kent); 1 son, Chuck (Elena) of Colorado Springs, CO., and 1 daughter, Lavonna Burnham-Smith of Augusta, GA.; 4 grandchildren, Tristan Parker of Foley, AL., Angellica Burnham of Colorado Springs, CO., Brittany Strickland of Hephzibah, GA., and Lynsey Smith of Augusta, GA.; 4 great grandchildren, Kaileigh Strickland, Kameron Strickland, Brett Parker and Elijah Washington; 1 sister, Annetta Strouse of Gainesville, FL., Gordon Burnham of Ocala, FL., Bob Burnham of Gainesville, FL., and Clifford Burnham of Micanopy, FL. Family will receive friends Sunday 2 pm to 4 pm at THE POTEET FUNERAL HOME, 3465 Peach Orchard Rd., HWY 25, Augusta, 30906. Funeral Services will be Monday at 12 Noon at Friendship United Methodist Church, 3027 Tobacco Rd., Augusta, with Pastor Mark Taylor, officiating. Burial to follow in Hillcrest Memorial Park.Pallbearers will be Andy Anderson, Gary Hill, Chad Henderson, Jermery Washington, David Alligood and Dalton Lawson.
