J. Chester Marsingill

J. C. Marsingill, 85, of Evans entered into rest on Saturday, March 31, 2018. Funeral services will be held Thursday, April 5, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. in the Chapel of Poteet Funeral Home with Pastor Race Lariscy officiating. Interment will be in Hillcrest Cemetery of Buford, Georgia. A native of Buford, Georgia, he was a retired 1st Sergeant in the United States Army and dedicated 36 years of service to the United States Government. Father of 2 sons, 3 grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren, and 2 great-great grandchildren. A loving husband with hobbies of gardening, animals, fishing, baseball, football, and crossword puzzles. He was preceded in death by Fumiyo Marsingill, his loving wife of 62 years. He is survived by his sons, Philip K. (Cynthia) Marsingill and Joseph K. (Jokey) Marsingill, both of Augusta; brothers, Darell Marsingill, Jarell Marsingill, and Curtis Marsingill, all of Buford; grandchildren, Melissa J. (Joey) Scott, Erin N. (Stephen) Orr, and Brendon K. (Megan) Marsingill; great grandchildren, Taylor Huffman, Blaze Walker, Shelby Walker, Macy Walker, Hayze Rubendall, Khyler Rubendall, Stephen Orr, V., Cohen Kinard, Skyla Orr, and Ezekiel Drake; great-great grandchildren, Knox and River. The family will receive friends on Wednesday, April 4, 2018 from 6:00 until 8:00 at The Poteet Funeral Home.
