Holly Jane Kile

d. March 6, 2023

Holly Jane Kile died on March 6, 2023, at the age of 50, after six months of courageously fighting bladder cancer. Holly was born in Valdosta, Georgia, and chose to live full-hearted and intentionally as she moved between Alabama, Florida, and Indiana – returning full circle to reside in Augusta, Georgia, at the end of her life. In these geographies, the imprint of her resilient and generous Spirit remains. Her love was palpable, and her presence was a gift to anyone with the good fortune to know her.

In 2009, Holly was diagnosed with a rare and terminal Mitochondrial disease. Compassed by hope and supported by an uncompromising fortitude, she lived through this diagnosis as a named miracle to doctors, family, and friends.   While much of her adult life was spent confined to a wheelchair, her ability to live beyond her disability was an inspiration.

She was a visionary technologist, strategist, educator, and marketing consultant; she dedicated her life to fervently supporting the dreams of others selflessly with humor and passion. In addition, Holly had a great gift of bringing light to any project or individual she worked with.

It was that same light she brought to others that illuminated her dreams of walking and reclaiming her miraculous life. So, after setting the intention, supported by friends, loved ones, and unstoppable will, she left her wheelchair behind and traveled the world enjoying the crystal-clear waters of the Caribbean and Mediterranean

While Holly’s life is a gift to those around her, her son Kaleb Kile is her greatest gift. Her family and close friends have witnessed and honored the steadfast and consistent love that was the recipe to her mothering. Those who know Kaleb can attest to his inheritance of Holly's highest virtues, her humor, wit, and tenderness.

Surrounded by friends and family, Holly relished life. She was a teacher and an inspiration and could beat anyone in scrabble. Holly will be remembered through her miraculous light and her resilient Spirit. Holly is survived by her son Kaleb Mitchel Kile, Aunt Virginia Thompson, sister Marisa Smith and her husband Adam Smith with their children Addison and Ruby Smith.

Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society and the Hospice Foundation of America.
