Our beloved Henry David Logan and Carole Virginia Logan tragically left us on December 1st, 2024. They entered into rest with their little yorkie companion, Pixie, at their residence. They were survived by their children; Mary Bryant, Amanda Rybicki, and Victoria Troglen: their grandchildren, Darryl Fort, Karissa Jozwiak, Nicole Silver, Christian Troglen, Hunter Rybicki, and Mason Rybicki: 10 great-grandchildren, and 3 great great-grandchildren: their siblings: Eleanor Foshee and Frances Brown. They were preceded in death by their parents: Benjamin and Norma Logan, James and Margaret Read, their son: David Logan, and their siblings: Nancy Woodruff, James Read, Ann Shirey, and Floyd Read: and multiple fur babies. David and Carole met prior and began dating in 1972, David learned sign language during their courtship, and that commitment to communicating was an endearing gesture that catapulted their love. They later married on July 28th, 1972. They loved to travel and try different restaurant cuisines. They were rooted in the CSRA as they were the epitome of love and dedication. They had a love for their family that was unwavering. Together they created a home filled with laughter, kindness, and a sense of belonging. They have left a wonderful legacy of love to continue on for generations to come. David, as he was known to most, was born in Augusta, Georgia on December 11th, 1943, to Benjamin and Norma Logan. He served in the US Navy and had a vast array of job titles while in the service. Upon exiting the service, he worked as a chemical operator at International Paper for over 33 years prior to retiring. He enjoyed hunting and the outdoors. He had a love and passion for cooking and feeding all the ones he loved. If you know, you know. Those who knew David will remember him for his infectious smile and overwhelming laughter, his deep-rooted faith, and his complete devotion to spreading love and kindness, and sometimes a little grumpiness, to everyone he encountered. He had a rare gift for making others smile, laugh and eat, leaving a lasting impact on all who crossed his path. While he was often perceived as quiet, he had a wealth of knowledge and shared a vast amount of that with those close to him. Carole was born in Augusta, Georgia on August 16th, 1944, to James and Margaret Read. She worked as a US Postal Service worker for several years before she retired to become a homemaker and raise her family. Carole had a love for basketball and traveling. She was a member of the Deaf community and spent a large amount of her time advocating for the needs of the Deaf. Carole had the kindest heart and invested countless hours in the ones that she loved. She was a shining light in the lives of all who had the privilege of knowing her. Her journey on this earth was one marked by love, compassion, and steadfast faith in God. Their passing has left a void in the hearts of their family, friends, and many more whose lives were touched by them. We ask that you remember them not for the way their lives ended, but for the way they were lived, and for the profound impact it had on the lives of those who had the pleasure of knowing them. A memorial service is scheduled for 2:00pm on Monday, December 9th at Wesley United Methodist Church, 825 N Belair Road, Evans, GA 30809. The family will receive friends from 1pm to 2pm before the service begins. Flowers can be delivered to the church after 9am. The family requests that donations can also be made to the Deaf Seniors of Georgia or to Breast Cancer Research in memory of David and Carole Logan as these were both near and dear to their hearts.
